5 Layered Pearl Chain with Green & Orange Beads

Olive green and burnt orange — the colours of a Tussar border, of turmeric and neem, of a handloom wardrobe. Five strands of warm cream pearls carry alternating blocks of sage-green and rust-orange beads along the upper sides, separated by gold-tone spacer bars with floral detailing. It is the earthiest piece in the range and the one that belongs with handwoven fabric.

What makes this piece work

  • Made for handloom, not for silk. Most traditional jewellery is designed against gold zari. This one is designed against texture — Tussar, jute, khadi cotton, Chanderi — where a bright gold set would look out of place.
  • Five layers, one decision. Multi-strand jewellery does the work of a whole styling plan. You put it on and the neckline is finished.
  • Alternating colour blocks. The green and orange repeat in bands down each side rather than sitting in one solid run, which gives the piece rhythm and keeps the eye moving.
  • Adjustable back-link chain. You are not locked into one fixed length, and it works across a range of necklines.

Styling this piece

Wear it to festivals, office ethnic days, official gatherings, daytime functions and as a wedding guest — any occasion where you want a confident, powerful presence rather than a loud one.

Earth tones want earth tones. Mustard, rust, olive, brown, beige, cream and off-white sarees all sit naturally with it, and it is genuinely excellent against a Tussar or jute weave where the texture matters more than the shine. Against a deep green or bottle-green saree the orange leads; against a rust or mustard drape the green does. It also carries a plain khadi cotton beautifully when you want one piece to do the work.

It pairs beautifully with cotton, georgette floral, satin, jute, Chanderi, Tussar and soft silk sarees, and works over elevated casual and Indo-western outfits too.

Neckline note: a long layered chain like this sits best over a round-neck, V-neck or boat-neck blouse, and over plain or lightly worked fabric. If your blouse already carries heavy neckline embroidery, the five strands and the embroidery will compete — choose one or the other to lead.

Caring for it

  • Store in an airtight box away from moisture and perfumes.
  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to preserve the pearls, beads and detailing.
  • Jewellery goes on last — after makeup, perfume and hairspray have dried — and comes off first, before bathing, exercise, swimming or sleeping.
  • Keep away from perfume, deodorant, creams, water, hot water, detergent, household chemicals and prolonged sweat. Do not wash or soak it.
  • Store this piece separately from other jewellery, and lay the strands flat rather than folding them, so the five layers do not tangle.
  • Finish life varies with how often you wear it, your climate and how you store it. We do not promise permanent shine — we give you the steps that genuinely extend it.

Frequently asked questions

What colours are in this pearl chain?
Warm cream pearls with alternating blocks of sage-green and rust-orange beads, finished with gold-tone spacer bars.

How many layers does this pearl chain have?
Five. Each strand carries repeating green and orange bands along the upper sides, with pearls forming the lower drape.

Are these real pearls?
No. These are pearl beads — this is premium imitation (fashion) jewellery, not cultured or natural pearls. We state that clearly rather than leaving you to guess.

How long is this necklace, and is it adjustable?
The side length is 36 cm and the total length is approximately 72 cm, including the back links — a long necklace that falls below the collarbone rather than sitting close to the neck. It has an adjustable back-link chain, so you can shorten it to suit your neckline.

Do earrings come with this chain?
No. This listing is for one pearl chain on its own. If you would like a coordinated earring suggestion, message us on WhatsApp with your outfit and we will recommend one.

Which sarees suit green and orange best?
Handloom weaves — Tussar, jute, khadi cotton and Chanderi — in mustard, rust, olive, brown, beige, cream or off-white. This is the piece to wear when your saree has texture rather than heavy zari.

How is this different from the pink and green version?
Pink and green is the classic festive pairing, brighter and better suited to silk. Green and orange is earthier and warmer, and works best with handloom and cotton. Choose by the fabric you wear most.

Is this suitable for festivals?
Yes. Green and orange carry strong traditional associations in South Indian celebration dressing, which makes this a natural choice for Sankranti, Ugadi and Dasara.

Can I wear this to the office?
Yes — it is one of the easier pieces here for ethnic-day dressing. The muted, earthy palette reads as considered rather than festive.

Which blouse neckline suits a 5-layer chain?
Round-neck, V-neck and boat-neck blouses work best, ideally in plain or lightly worked fabric. If your blouse has heavy neckline embroidery, let one of the two lead.

How do I store a 5-layer chain so it doesn't tangle?
Lay it flat rather than folding it, and store it in an airtight box on its own, away from moisture and perfumes. Layered chains tangle when they are folded into a pouch with other pieces — that is the single most common way these get damaged.
