A stone-set rectangular stud opens onto a broad chandbali crescent paved edge to edge in small clear cubic zirconia, with large white pear-cut and round stones scattered through it, a ruby-red teardrop at the centre, and ruby-red and green stones ringing the outer border. Deep ruby-red oval beads hang from the lower edge, each capped with a cluster of small pearls. This is bridal-weight jewellery — built to be the thing people notice.

• Full pavé, not scattered stones. The crescent is covered in cubic zirconia rather than spot-set, which is what gives it that continuous shimmer under function lighting and photography.
