Green Oval Stud Chandbalis
This pair leads with a single large stone. A deep green oval cabochon, ringed with small white stones, sits on the lobe as a proper stud in its own right. Below it a cluster of ruby-red petals frames a green pear-cut, and from that hangs an open crescent — a clean ring of white stones with nothing filling the middle. Mint green oval beads and pearl clusters fringe the lower edge.
What makes this pair work
- The stud is the point of difference. Most chandbalis use a small decorative top. Here the top is a statement stone on its own, which gives the earring presence even before the crescent is noticed.
- An open crescent. Leaving the centre empty makes the pair look lighter and more graphic than a filled chandbali, and lets skin or fabric show through the ring.
- Two greens, deliberately. Dark cabochon at the top, pale mint beads at the bottom — the tonal shift is what gives the piece depth rather than repetition.
- Restraint in the stone work. A single row of white stones around the ring, not a packed surface. The design reads calmer than most temple chandbalis.
How to style it
- Good for a longer day. The open crescent means less weight than a filled one, so this is a sensible choice for a wedding where you will be in jewellery from morning to night.
- Works with a necklace, unusually. Because the design is open and fairly narrow, a short choker or a thin chain sits comfortably alongside it without crowding.
- Ivory, cream, gold, maroon and deep green silks. The dark cabochon shows best against pale fabric; against green silk the mint beads lead instead.
- Also good with a plain kurti or an anarkali for a house pooja — they dress up a simple outfit without looking like bridal jewellery.
- Hair up or to one side so the ring shape stays visible. The open centre is the best part of the design and disappears behind hair.

Please note
This is premium imitation (fashion) jewellery. The green, red and white stones are decorative stones — they are not emeralds, rubies or diamonds, and are not sold as such. The pearls are pearl beads, not cultured or natural pearls. This is a standard finish, not an anti-tarnish or specially coated piece.
Caring for it
- Put jewellery on last — after makeup, perfume and hairspray have fully dried — and take it off before bathing, exercise, swimming or sleeping.
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear. Pay attention to the rim of the large cabochon, where product collects around the setting.
- Keep away from perfume, deodorant, creams, water, hot water, detergent, household chemicals and prolonged sweat. Do not wash or soak.
- Store flat in an airtight box so the bead fringe does not tangle with other pieces.
- Lift by the stud, not by the crescent ring.
Frequently asked questions
What is a cabochon stone?
A cabochon is a stone cut smooth and domed rather than faceted. It gives a deep, glossy colour instead of sparkle, which is why it is used for the large green and red stones in temple and kemp jewellery.
Can I wear a necklace with chandbali earrings?
With most chandbalis, only a close choker or nothing. This pair is an exception — the open crescent and narrower width leave room for a short necklace or a fine chain without the look becoming crowded.
Are these comfortable for all-day wear at a wedding?
More so than most in this range. The open crescent removes a good deal of the weight a filled chandbali carries, which makes a real difference over a full day of functions.
Are these suitable for Diwali, Dussehra and Navratri?
Yes. Green and gold is a classic Navratri and Dussehra combination, and the pair is restrained enough for a house pooja while still reading as festive.
Are the green stones real emeralds?
No. They are decorative green stones and green beads. They are not emeralds and are not sold as such — the same applies to the red and white stones.
Are the pearls real?
No. They are pearl beads, not cultured or natural pearls.
Is this jewellery anti-tarnish?
No. This is a standard gold-tone finish, not an anti-tarnish or specially coated piece. Wiping it dry after each wear and keeping it away from perfume and sweat is what extends the finish.
