Kundan Flower Mint Chandbalis

Flat uncut-style stones throughout, which is what gives this pair its particular look. The stud is a flower of pale kundan petals around a ruby-red centre with a green accent; below hangs an open crescent lined with the same flat white stones, ruby-red ovals at intervals, and a small gold rosette suspended in the middle with a pearl drop beneath it. Mint green ovals and pearl clusters complete the fringe.

What makes this pair work

  • Kundan glows rather than sparkles. Flat-set stones give a soft, milky light instead of the hard glitter of brilliant cuts — which is why this pair photographs warm rather than flashy.
  • The rosette in the centre. A small plain gold flower hanging where most designs put another stone — a quiet choice that keeps the earring from being wall-to-wall stone.
  • Warm gold against pale stones. The contrast is gentler than white stones on bright polish, and it suits softer skin tones and softer fabrics.
  • Open crescent, low weight. Wide across without the heft of a filled design.

How to style it

  • The most versatile pair in this range. Soft enough for a daytime pooja, substantial enough for a wedding reception — it does not look out of place at either.
  • Pair with other kundan. If you own a jadau kundan choker or haram, this is the earring that matches the setting style, which matters more than matching the colour.
  • Beautiful with ivory, cream, blush, pista and old gold. The warm kundan tone can disappear against bright white, so lean to warmer pales.
  • Also strong against deep maroon and bottle green silk, where the pale stones stand out sharply.
  • Short necklace or none, and hair up or swept aside so the open crescent keeps its shape.

Please note

This is premium imitation (fashion) jewellery. The white, red and green stones are decorative stones in a kundan-style flat setting — they are not diamonds, rubies or emeralds, and are not sold as such. The pearls are pearl beads, not cultured or natural pearls. This is a standard finish, not an anti-tarnish or specially coated piece.

Caring for it

  • Put jewellery on last — after makeup, perfume and hairspray have fully dried — and take it off before bathing, exercise, swimming or sleeping.
  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear. Kundan settings hold product in the metal rim around each stone, so a soft dry brush matters more here than on claw-set pieces.
  • Never soak or wash kundan-style work — moisture can get behind a flat-set stone and loosen it.
  • Keep away from perfume, deodorant, creams, water, hot water, detergent, household chemicals and prolonged sweat.
  • Store flat in an airtight box, away from other pieces.

Frequently asked questions

What is kundan jewellery?
Kundan is a traditional Indian setting technique in which flat, uncut-style stones are held by fine strips of pure metal pressed around their edges, rather than by claws. The result is a smooth, flush surface with a soft glow rather than sharp sparkle. Jadau refers to the related craft of embedding stones into a metal base.

How is kundan different from CZ or American diamond jewellery?
CZ and AD are faceted stones cut to throw light and sparkle brightly. Kundan-style stones are flat and set flush, so they glow softly instead. Kundan reads as older and more traditional; CZ reads as brighter and more modern.

Can I wear kundan earrings with temple jewellery?
Yes — the two are frequently worn together in South India, and many pieces combine both. Keeping the gold tone consistent matters more than keeping the stone style consistent.

Are these suitable for Diwali, Dussehra and Navratri?
Yes, and they are among the most adaptable in this range — soft enough for a daytime Golu visit, substantial enough for a Diwali evening or a reception.

Are the stones real diamonds, rubies or emeralds?
No. They are decorative stones in a kundan-style setting and are not sold as precious stones.

Are the pearls real?
No. They are pearl beads, not cultured or natural pearls.

Is this jewellery anti-tarnish?
No. This is a standard gold-tone finish, not an anti-tarnish or specially coated piece. Wiping it dry after each wear and keeping it away from perfume and sweat is what extends the finish.
