Three Flower Mangalsutra Pendant

Three small flowers, each petal set with a white stone, clustered into a single pendant at the centre of a black-bead chain. A floral mangalsutra is the softest reading of the form — no temple motif, no geometry, nothing heavy — which is why it tends to be the design women choose for themselves rather than inherit.

What makes this piece work

  • A cluster, not a single flower. Three overlapping blooms give the pendant width without height, so it spreads along the chain line rather than hanging down.
  • Stones on every petal. The whole pendant catches light rather than one central stone doing the work — which is what keeps a small pendant visible.
  • Genuinely light. There is no weight at the centre to pull the chain down or mark the neck over a long day.
  • 18 inches. Collarbone length, so the cluster sits above most necklines and stays in view.

What to wear this with

Floral reads well against fabrics that already have softness — georgette and chiffon sarees, cotton sarees, kurtis, salwar suits and dresses. It also works with printed and floral fabrics, where a temple or geometric pendant would compete.

Because it is small and low-relief, it sits comfortably under a shirt collar too, which makes it a practical office choice as much as a pretty one.

Product details

  • Short mangalsutra with floral pendant
  • Colour: black beads with gold-tone chain and white stones
  • Length: 18 inches
  • Design: black-bead chain with gold spacers and a pendant of three clustered flowers, each petal set with white stones

Please note

This is premium imitation (fashion) jewellery. The white stones are decorative stones, not diamonds, and the gold tone is a finish rather than gold. This is a standard finish — not an anti-tarnish or specially coated piece.

Caring for it

  • Put jewellery on last — after makeup, perfume and hairspray have fully dried — and take it off before bathing, exercise, swimming or sleeping.
  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear, and use a soft dry brush between the petals where dust settles.
  • Keep away from perfume, deodorant, creams, water, hot water, detergent, household chemicals and prolonged sweat. Do not wash or soak it.
  • Store in an airtight box, laid flat and separately from heavier pieces.
  • Worn daily, the finish will soften faster than on occasion jewellery. Small stone settings also need the dry brush more often than a plain chain.

Frequently asked questions

Can a mangalsutra have a floral pendant instead of a traditional motif?
Yes. What makes a mangalsutra a mangalsutra is the black beads on the chain, not the pendant design. Pendant styles have always varied by region and family, and floral, geometric and modern pendants are all common now — particularly on second, lighter mangalsutras kept for daily wear.

Is this light enough to wear all day?
Yes. The pendant is small and low-relief with no weight to pull at the chain, and at 18 inches it sits at the collarbone rather than swinging at the chest.

What is a mangalsutra?
A mangalsutra is the necklace worn by married Hindu women, traditionally strung with black beads on a gold chain and tied during the wedding ceremony. In the South it is also called mangalyam, thaali or nalla pusalu, with regional differences in bead pattern and pendant.

Is this a good gift?
It is one of the safer choices in the category. It needs no sizing, the black-and-gold palette suits any wardrobe, and a light floral design is usually welcome for a woman whose wedding mangalsutra is too heavy for everyday wear.

Is this jewellery anti-tarnish?
No. This is a standard gold-tone finish, not an anti-tarnish or specially coated piece. Wiping it dry after each wear and keeping it away from perfume and sweat is what extends the finish.

Are the white stones diamonds?
No. They are decorative white stones set to catch light. They are not diamonds and are not sold as such.
